I was so proud of Neal last evening. Just wanted to scream, “That’s My Boy!” But I didn’t. He would have been embarrassed and probably never talked to me again!
At graduation at Tussey they not only hand out the diploma’s but also announce the scholarships each graduate is awarded. Some the students are aware of and others are a surprise.
Scholarships and Awards
His entire class did well with a collective total of $471,405 in scholarships and awards. Neal was very fortunate and fared quite well. He garnered the following:
High Honors Cord
Louis Armstrong Jazz Award
John Philip Sousa Award
Roy and Lillian Horton Memorial Scholarship
National School Choral Award
American Legion Post 556 Scholarship
Fall Foilage Scholarship
Sandy Run Landfill Scholarship
James Quinter Scholarship from Juniata College $20,000 each year for 4 years
Gold Key Alumni Scholarhsip from Juniata College $1,000 for 4 years
The only ones he knew about in advance were the two from the college.
Neal receiving scholarship.
His scholarships totaled more than $88,000 over 4 years.
What an honor to be awarded so many. All the hard work and effort had a payoff. This will certainly be a blessing and help when it come to paying for college.
Sorry to brag! But, That’s My Boy!
Lots more pictures to share…maybe another post!
