We were all looking forward to our day in Cozumel. We had a shore excursion booked and we were looking forward to Kayaking, water-biking, and more.
We ate a quick breakfast. Once the ship docked at 10 AM. we left the boat for our shore excursion.
Our Excursion
Here we are as we got off the ship in Mexico. As you can see the winds were blowing.
As we left Liv and I found these two Mexican guys to hang out with for the day.
On our way to meet our transportation to the excursion, we enjoy some Mayan style dancing.
Our excursion was the Playa Mia Waterpark. They had waterslides, kayaks, water bicycles, paddleboats, a water trampoline, and more.
Unfortunately, the excursion was a huge disappointment. Due to the winds, everything was docked or shut down except beach chairs, the beach, and the pool. We enjoyed free drinks and an all you can eat International Buffet, but to be honest, the food was just so-so. The food on the ship was 200% better.
We went for walks on the beach and on the pier.
Mike and I are on the pier in this picture. You can tell the wind is blowing. (Not sure how my camera protector got tangled around my neck.)
We relaxed in the sun and Neal and Liv even took a nap.
It was much better than being in the cold at home, but it was not the active day we had planned. But we can’t control the weather, so we made the best of the circumstances.
[This was not the original excursion we wanted to take. Liv and Neal originally wanted to go on Dune Buggy rides, but it stopped in an area and you had to swim and Liv isn’t a swimmer, so they decided they would just do the water park. Mike and I originally wanted to do a Segway tour. That fell through because of some of their physical requirements. So we all ended up at the waterpark by default and then it was a total bust due to the weather.]
Return to the Ship
At 3 we met our transportation back to the ship in time for an afternoon snack. That is one of the fun things….when you have a late dining time, you can enjoy an afternoon snack!
Then we all headed to the solarium for a swim.
Our Evening
Dinner was great as usual. I wish I would have recorded what we each ordered, but not sure.
Neal and Liv headed for a trivia contest and Mike and I took in some Adult Karaoke in the Colony Club
We then made our way to the Centrum for a 70’s Tribute with the Royal Caribbean Singers and then a Disco Inferno Dance Party.
Our room steward left us another towel creature hanging in our room. This was a flying bat!
Exhausted, we were happy to go to bed knowing the next day would be another day at sea and we could sleep late.
