Plan a Children’s Grinch Party

Every year, our church holds a Christmas Party for the children.   This year we held a “Grinch” Party.  We usually have it the Saturday before their Christmas Program in church.  They come for practice and then after practice, we have the party.

Grinch Party

The Party

The party usually consists of food, a Santa visit, sometimes games and reading of Christmas stories.

Theme

This year we planned the theme around Grinch since it is a popular movie many of the children were familiar with.

Food

We served Grinch Cookies, Grinch Rice Krispie Treats, Grinch Popcorn Snack Mix, and Grinch Punch.   We also served chicken nuggets, french fries, string cheese, pretzels and fruit.

Activities

After the children had their fill of Grinch food, we sang some songs and talked about the real meaning of Christmas.

Then Santa paid a visit.  The children love Santa and enjoy the personal time they get to spend with him.   Even the tiniest children love Santa.

Santa and Baby

Each child gets a gift from Santa. (We make up the gifts prior to his visit.  Every child gets the same things with different versions for babies and the older kids.)

The party usually lasts about 2 hours.  The kids go home with big smiles and hopefully lots of happy memories of their time with the Church Santa.

Plan a “Grinch” party for the children in your life and watch their faces light up with delight.
