Egg Hunts, Food, Family and More!

Easter…a holiday…how did you spend the day?   Did you treat it like any other day?  Did you spend it working, sitting at your computer the entire day?   Did you do something special?   Did you rest, spend time with family and friends?  Did you go to church or cook a big meal?

My thoughtful husband surprised me with an egg hunt first thing in the morning.    Twelve eggs hid for me and twelve for our son.  He took the time to fill the eggs with lottery tickets and other prizes.   I won $27.

We went to church.  Great sermon and communion.  A friend from grade school and high school was there and it was great to see her.  Then we went to my parents for lunch.  We had a feast!  Turkey, ham, green beans, sauteed corn, potatoes, filling, noodles, pickled eggs, cole slaw, coconut cake and more.

Then my siblings, their significant others, my husband, son and I all hunted Easter Eggs.  It is an annual tradition.  My parents hide them and we had a grand time hunting them.   It is a little competitive, but we had a wonderful afternoon.  If you haven’t figured it out yet….I LOVE egg hunts! Check out the video of our hunt!

We returned home for a short rest and then we went to my brother-in-law’s for dinner.   More food and lots of great conversation and family time. My great nephew Cohen is such a sweetie!

We returned home full of food, all talked out and exhausted from the day.

I’m so thankful for the wonderful family we share and for Jesus who died for our sins so that we can have eternal life.  Easter is a happy day because “He Lives!”
