Getting ready for our family vacation to the beach. We are heading to Surfside Beach, a few miles south of Myrtle Beach. We love it there. The water is so warm and the sand so soft.
We always went to Ocean City, Maryland. Then a few years ago we thought we would try the Myrtle Beach area. Since then, we prefer the southern beaches. You don’t know what you are missing until you try it.
I have work tomorrow, so I’m trying to get most of the packing done this evening. (I know what you are thinking….why is she on the computer? lol)
As I was packing, I was wondering how other people pack for a beach vacation? As we travel, I see cars packed to the roof and then I see cars with beach chairs but very little in the car. I see people moving into the condos and beach houses with everything from suitcases, duffle bags, and wicker laundry baskets.
We used to pack in suitcases, but we gave that up about 10 years ago. I have flexible hampers, or laundry baskets. The kind lots of college kids use. I pack one for each of us. They are great because they are flexible. You can pack a lot in them, including shoes, cosmetic bag, etc. and when packing the truck, you can bend them to fit around other things.
When we arrive, we each take our hamper basket to our room and we have everything we need.
Once we unpack, we each have a basket for our dirty clothes. They are made of mesh so there is room for the clothes to breathe and dry, reducing the chance of mildew.
So how do you pack for a beach vacation? I’m really curious to know. Please let your comment below.
