And There She Goes!

I peered out the subway window as it whisked me on to the next stop, Neal and Michael looking back at me from the station.  The look on their faces was priceless!

And There She Goes!

So many funny things happened on this trip, the first within an hour or two of our arrival.  We arrived in London and gathered our luggage. then found our way to the Underground station.   Purchased a four-day pass and boarded the subway.

Our suitcases have wheels and mine seemed to keep running away while on the subway. Neal caught it and put it near the door on the opposite side of the car where he was standing.   I was seated and we rode along.   As we neared our exit, they both reminded me we were getting off.

The train stopped and Mike and Neal exited and I was right behind them, but a little boy wanted to sit in the seat Mike had just vacated and jumped in front of me, his dad pulled him back and he kept pulling in the opposite direction.  The parent wasn’t letting go and they were blocking my way.   I finally got around that and then a person had moved to stand in front of my suitcase, I excused myself and grabbed the case and took a step towards the door and they closed!

Oh No!

There I stood with my face against the door looking out at Mike and Neal who were staring back at me from the platform.  The subway zipped me away quickly.   I wish I could have had a picture of the look on their faces!

We couldn’t text, etc. because we had not activated our service for all to have international, only one phone and we didn’t have WiFi on the train.

I figured I would ride to the next station and then catch the next train back to meet them.

They figured I would be lost and  got on the next train to meet me.

Luckily I didn’t board the train back before they arrived.  We rode back to the previous station together and connected with our next train to our flat.  We certainly had a few chuckles about our first trip in the “tube.”

Warning!

Funniest thing was, there were signs everywhere saying, ” Take an extra minute of care, Don’t let your child behind!”  Didn’t say anything about other family members!

The subway episode was the official start to our adventure!

Has anything crazy like that ever happened to you?
